Information and Rules - Sanctions

Time Penalties

Time penalties will be added to a team's overall finishing time if the following rule breaches take place:

Pacing a team at any point along the route 30 minutes per team
Disregard for the Countryside Code 10 minutes per team
Failure to carry items on the equipment list 30 minutes per article
Failure to display Race Number 20 minutes per team member
Failure to carry an approved rucksack 1 hour per team member
Failure to wear both shoulder straps on rucksack 1 hour per team member

Team Disqualification

A team will be disqualified for:-

  • Failing to observe casualty safety requirements
  • Failing to follow the marked route in Controlled Sections
  • Failing to report to a Checkpoint
  • Failing to report to a Checkpoint together
  • Failing to punch orienteering card at each Checkpoint
  • Failing to reach a nominated Checkpoint before checkpoint cut-off time
  • Pre-Race training over a prohibited area
  • Found in possession of a Satellite Navigation System
