Wooller Town’s Silly Walk

For months before there has been talk
Of teams preparing for the famous walk
Officers Sgt's and PC from every force
And the Army'll be there of course
To do the Annual Wooller Silly Walk

Miles of training rounded off on the day
With a run up eleven peaks so they say
Even if it's raining hard and ground's all soggy
It only helps to perfect both mind and body
For the Annual Wooller Silly Walk

Cheviot Hills covered in cloud and rain
Are just the things to bring on the pain?
When the final hill's run up and down
It's a frantic dash back into town
To do the Annual Wooller Silly Walk

So what if the Ghurkha's did it in five hours twenty
That no match for your painful ten hours plenty
You know it's not the winner's speed that really tells
Nor the challenge of running all day on the fells
It's the evening in the town, doing the Wooller Silly Walk
