Anyone been up to The Cheviots recently? Has there been much rain in the area? I'm wondering whether the course might be a little less damp this year!

My contact in Wooler reckons it is 'bone dry' at the moment !!

'bone dry' compared to what? The Tyne? I was up there the other day and as a result have been pricing up a wet suit and a pair of waders.

From previous experience, it's possible for the course to be less damp than usual AND for wet suits and waders still to be useful!

Was on cheviot last night. The ground between the summit and west hill is much wetter than in recent weeks. I sank up to my knees a couple of times which is a first for this year.
