The Olympics has really put a spanner in the works for this years race.
We (Lincolnshire) have nine teams in training for this years race, however because of the June - August holiday ban, we are still waiting on the confirmation of our leave passes from the Ops Planning unit before we can confirm we are coming !
On a plus side, the accommodation in Wooler, apart from the Hostel (Fully booked) has been changed to the new date without a problem.
Is everyone else in the same position with regards to leave ?
Jon (Chev Imps)
The change of date has certainly 'put a spanner in the works' as far as Cheshire is concerned! I had arranged for our team to get in their annual leave requests early based on the original date. Now that the date has changed it's unlikely I will be able to get time off to compete and some of the others are struggling, although I am hoping Cheshire will still be able to put a team together.
Surprised the youth hostel is already booked up. We have usually booked accommodation there about six weeks before the event without difficulty.

Apologies for date change but it was out of our control, although we've known about the Olympics for several years - planning by the Police, as usual, is apparently only taking place at the last minute !!
Its not the organisers fault Gary it's just one of those things !
Our leave is starting to drip through now, but we are waiting for the Mets to finalise the numbers they require before all Lincs leave is granted.
Just hope enough enter for it to go ahead, it may be a late call.
It's a state of mind !
If in doubt - crack a wet Royal !
I am hoping to get two teams up and running by the end of the month...again waiting for people to have leave confirmed. Clearly the Olympic planning committee haven't realised that this event is clearly more interesting and challenging than the 'games', with a higher calibre of athlete competing - whatever the weather. The olympic village will have nothing on the bar at the school in Wooler.
